Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at approximately 18:26 hours, The Delhi Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the area of Richmond St. and Michigan St. E51 arrived on scene and reported a single family dwelling fully involved, flames exiting on all 4 sides and out of the roof. CMD51 arrived and announced it was a vacant residence. During the incident neighbors reported to The Delhi Fire Department they observed 3 juveniles running from the structure immediately before the fire. DFD Fire Investigator, Dy. M. Duchesne, and Delhi Police Department, Asst. Chief C. Frasier, went to a residence on Florida St. and spoke with a parent guardian. The parent guardian gave permission to speak with their teenage juvenile. During the interview the teenage juvenile admitted they were inside the structure and had a direct impact on the fire. Two other teenage juveniles were interviewed, with parent/guardians, who collaborated the story. The Delhi Police Department made 3 juvenile arrests, LA:RS 14:52 Simple Arson, and released them to their parent/guardian.
